Hi everyone! As per the title, welcome to my blog. I’ve had a few other blogs before, with grandiose promises of consistent updates, writings, and whatnot, but clearly those fell through.
I’ll level with you, I’m not entirely sure what this site is going to be. I know, I know. The site is a “home.blog”, but that is 100% because I didn’t want to pay for a domain that I wasn’t sure I’d consistently use. That isn’t a lack of faith or conviction in myself so much as it’s a reflection of my cheapness.
My vision for this site is that I will post various things, whether that be a rant, a story, a train of thought, or an opinion piece (which will often be a rant). Sometimes I’ll use big words, sometimes I won’t. I’d like this “blog” (I use the quotes because I’m uncertain of what this is) to remain accessible should anyone want to read it, but also exercise my own vocabulary.
My posts from here on out will, unless otherwise indicated, not be connected. I don’t want to write a series of posts revolving around singular ideas, or continue on stories for many many weeks or months. If I had to compare this “blog” to a TV show it would be more episodic and less serialized. Think Firefly as opposed to Daredevil. And yes, I know there was an overarching story to Firefly, but the episodes were pretty episodic in nature.
I can’t promise consistency in the quality, quantity, or time gaps in my writing. I also can’t promise that I’ll even write any posts after this introduction, but what I can promise is that I may, one day, change the layout of this “blog” to something less generic!
